Teen Summer Reading Final Report
As we’ve done the past few years, teens earned scratch tickets in order to win prizes. There were six ways they could earn tickets— reading graphic novels, attending a teen program, reading fiction, attending the final party, reading non-fiction, and volunteering during the library’s children’s summer reading program. With the scratch tickets they could win a small prize, a medium prize, or a large prize. Teens received 15 of those prizes during the summer reading program. Tickets that were marked “losing ticket” rather than listing a prize, were entered in the drawing for prizes given away at the final party. Three grand prizes were given away to lucky winners at the final party. Kayla Ogle won the prize bag that contained “goodies” as well as a Kindle Fire HD 8. The other two grand prize bags went to Lauren Svoboda and Michael Forster.
Thank you to all the teens who participated in this summer’s program!

Again this year, we did not ask local businesses to help our summer reading program with monetary donations due to their generosity during our building project. However, some area businesses still offered us gift certificates or coupons. Thank you to the following for helping us with our children’s, teen, or adult summer reading programs: Bonfire; Dairy Queen, Legends; McDonald’s; Nebraska State Bank; Pizza Hut; Prairie Grounds; Runza; Subway; Taco John’s; and Tiffany Theater.
We also thank UNL Extension Office staff Colleen Peterson and Audrey Foster for their time in helping with the teen and children’s summer reading programs.

There is no charge for these programs.

Thanks to a partnership with Driving-Tests.org, the Broken Bow Public Library is pleased to offer free online test prep for individuals preparing for their Nebraska driving tests!
