Teen Summer Reading Final Report
This year, Kim did something different for the teen program-- they received scratch tickets in order to earn prizes! There were six ways they could earn tickets-- reading graphic novels, attending a teen program, reading fiction, attending the final party, reading non-fiction, and volunteering at the library during children's summer reading programs. 48 teens participated in this year's program and they all agreed it was fun and unique. With the scratch tickets, they could win a small prize, a medium prize, or a big prize-- 52 prizes were given away. Tickets that where scratched off but marked "losing ticket" were entered for the grand prize-- a Kindle Fire HD 8. There were 217 "losing tickets" and Emma Taylor's ticket was drawn... she was thrilled with her new Kindle!
Thanks to all the teens who made this year's summer reading program so fun.
